This policy describes how GroundUp Bags (“GroundUp,” “we,” “us”) handles information when you visit groundupbags.com, write to us, or use the chat widget. It is meant to be complete enough for advertising-platform review, not a one-line stub.
Business contact: contact@groundupbags.com. Postal address: June Flowers Way, North Laurel, MD 20723, USA. Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM ET.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Contact details you submit: name, email address, phone number, organization, country dialing code, inquiry type, and message body, via the form on /contact or by email.
- Chat content: if you use the Crisp widget, the messages you send and basic device metadata Crisp needs to operate the conversation.
- Usage and device data: pages viewed, referring URL, approximate location derived from IP, browser and device type, and events such as product views or form submits. This is collected through Google Tag Manager and any tags loaded inside that container.
- Server logs: our host (Cloudflare) may log IP address, request time, and user agent for security and reliability.
We do not create customer accounts on this site. We do not take payment card numbers here. We do not knowingly collect sensitive health, financial, or government-ID data.
2. How we collect it
- Directly from you, when you submit the contact form, email us, or chat.
- Automatically, through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies when you load the site.
- From our processors, when they deliver a form or chat message to our inbox.
3. How we use it
We use this information to:
- Reply to inquiries, quotes, sample requests, and partnership conversations.
- Operate, secure, and debug the website.
- Measure which pages and products people look at, so we can improve the site.
- Measure advertising performance if we run ads (for example Meta, Google, or LinkedIn) that send traffic here.
- Comply with law, enforce our terms, and protect the business against fraud or abuse.
We do not use the contact form to subscribe you to a newsletter. We do not sell personal information for money.
4. Processors and other parties
We do share information with service providers who process it on our instructions. That is ordinary operations, not a “data sale.” The current processors on this site are:
- Web3Forms — delivers contact-form submissions to our email.
- Google — Google Tag Manager, and any Google analytics or ads tags configured in that container.
- Crisp — optional live chat.
- Cloudflare — hosting, DNS, CDN, and security.
- Meta, Google, LinkedIn, or similar ad platforms — only if a pixel or conversion tag for that platform is active in Tag Manager when you visit after seeing an ad.
Each of those companies has its own privacy policy. We also share information if you ask us to (for example, introducing you to a logistics partner), if the law requires it, or if we sell or reorganize the business.
5. Cookies, analytics, and ads
The site uses cookies and similar identifiers. Some are strictly necessary (for example, to remember a chat session). Others are used for analytics and, when ads are running, for conversion measurement and audience insights.
We also store a few keys in your browser’s session storage so we do not count the same product view twice in one visit. That data stays on your device and is used only for that measurement.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Blocking them may stop chat or make some measurement incomplete. Where an advertising platform offers ad-settings or opt-out tools, those tools control that platform’s use of data, not our inbox.
6. How long we keep it
Inquiry emails and form submissions are kept for as long as needed to handle the conversation and our ordinary business records (typically up to two years, longer if a contract, claim, or legal duty requires it). Chat transcripts follow Crisp’s retention settings. Analytics records follow the retention configured in those tools. Server logs are kept for a short operational window.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by writing to contact@groundupbags.com. Say “privacy request” in the subject line. We may need to verify it is you.
Depending on where you live (including California and other US states with privacy statutes, and the EEA/UK if those laws apply to a given request), you may also have rights to opt out of certain sharing for advertising, to appeal a refusal, and to lodge a complaint with a regulator. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
8. Children
This site is for businesses and adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete it.
9. International visitors
We are based in the United States. If you write to us from another country, your information is processed in the US and in the countries where our processors operate.
10. Security
We use HTTPS, reputable processors, and access limited to people who need to answer mail. No website is perfectly secure. Please do not send payment card numbers or passwords through the contact form.
11. Changes
We will update this page when our practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top is the current version. Material changes will be posted here before they apply to newly collected information.
